AVAILABLE POSITIONS

GENERAL INTERN

If you are interested in getting a feel of what it takes to run an online publication this role is for you. You would float between the main directors of the company dealing with all the most pressing Earwaks matters. You never really know what to expect when you have this role, one day you might be figuring out how to setup a stage at an event, the next day you might be organizing a photo shoot with a visiting artist. You will need to have a flexible attitude and willingness to learn on the job.

VISUAL AND PHOTOGRAPHIC STAFF

PHOTOGRAPHERS

Do you have a digital SLR? We are looking for people who are interested in shooting events, artists, fashion or products. We do accept submissions but the best way to get your work on Earwaks and seen by loads of people is to become a photography intern. We like to work collaboratively with our photographers to come up with the best creative direction. Once working for us, you will get various assignments to shoot with detailed briefings, and an opportunity to bring your own style and flavour to it. Express your area of interest and we will make sure you get to shoot the things you are most passionate about. If you are interested in assisting our current photographers, we have a few positions available for this as well.

PHOTOGRAPHY RETOUCHERS

Have you ever seen a really sharp photo that you knew if you had an hour to mess with in Photoshop you could make overly sick. We work with some of the top photographers in the city, but many of them just want to shoot and hand of their files to a talented Photoshop retoucher. This is a good way to start to get linked up with these photographers and also get your name out as a digital photographic retoucher.

GRAPHIC DESIGNERS

Our site has never-ending internal and external graphic design needs. From keeping the sites homepage and features looking dapper, to producing marketing materials, flyers for our parties, you will for sure get your design fix working with us. And don't forget about the many opportunities to work with our clients on our services projects.

NEW MEDIA DEVELOPER

We are continually working to make Earwaks more advanced and user friendly. We are looking for people who have good vision and are interested in developing new applications such as media players, navigation design and producing rich media interactivity throughout the site. A good working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Html is a must, After Effects and any 3D software is a big plus!

VIDEO CONTENT STAFF

VIDEOGRAPHERS

We aim to maximize the amount of video we can deliver through our featured content and are also planning to build up a webTV division in the not so distant future. Get involved now and work your way towards becoming a lead videographer working with a crew on producing weekly episodes. Owning a mini dv, camera is a must, and having access to a 3ccd, HD, or DVC PRO is a plus.

VIDEO EDITORS

After the party is the after party and after the after party is the editors jobby. Are you slick with cutting up videos quick? You can get valuable experience and build your portfolio editing video interviews, skits, commercials, etc. working as an Earwaks video editor.

INTERVIEWERS / HOSTS

You good on camera? As we start to integrate more video interviews into our features we need charismatic people who are able to host an interview with high profile artists, or deliver clear information to people about an event we are hosting. Past hosting/interviewing experiences, along with a great smile, is an asset.

What can we say? By now, it should come as no surprise that there's a never stopping revolving door of articles, interviews and editorials we need to churn out to the world. Working with us will provide you with great venue for exposure and even greater stories and topics to write about. And again, when working with us you will always be free to bring your ideas, no matter how far out there they are, to the table.

Ever dreamed of being the head honcho, editor in chief of a publication, spear heading it all? Well this is a great start to that goal. Within our innovative online content submission and editing system, you will be able to focus on topics of interest to you, edit, improve and collaborate with a pool of writers that will soon span the globe. And the best part, its all done online -- edit away while sitting around your bedroom in your undies!
