LaChapelle's Heaven to Hell
Kingsize Photographer David Lachapelle drops another bomb.
The legend photographer returns. David LaChapelle blesses the world with the release of his third book titled “LaChapelle Heaven to Hell”.
If you don’t know this cat by now, be happy you are reading this. LaChapelle is said to be one of the most influential image-makers of our time. His first two books LaChapelle Land (1996) & Hotel LaChapelle (1999) set waves in the contemporary photography worlds. His work, in true lachapelle style, takes you into another world, with highly stylized celebs and other fascinating people, bursting colours, and images packed with wise popular culture commentary undertones. He set a new benchmark for himself by releasing RIZE, his first documentary which captured a dance movement in innercity LA. This film helped expose crumping and clowning culture to the world.
LaChapelle also just announced a myspace photo contest. He is screening entries and choosing one person to shoot their main myspace photograph. This is big, the person who wins this will have an experience that many others wish the could and will probably get a major kick in whatever career path they are trying to promote on myspace.
