"Canadian Company Rogers Wireless" has not confirmed anything other than the fact that they are discussing and thinking about carrying the iPhone. IF Rogers carries the iPhone it will be at least 6 months after the US releaase date that we get it but thats a big IF. Rogers has to consider the pricing, its not all about carrying the "coolest new phone" its about money. Will Rogers make any money off this product or will they spend millions of dollars only to make half of it back? Is it really worth that risk when you can promise that there will be a better phone out in less than 2 years. IF the iPhone comes to Rogers it will be available on a monthly, 12 month, 24 month or 36 month term because thats the way Rogers runs their network.

Strong opinions there! I did do quite a bit of research before I pieced this together, and I don't think any are far off.

Just got off the phone with rogers. I asked them if the IPhone was going to be released in Canada and they told me they are aiming for June....

I work for rogers customer service. There are no official guarantee we well carry the phone but it's very likely. No official date has been released but we'll most likely get it after the USA does...

canada is soooo slow with getting anything! this sucks! when we do get the iphone..its going to be 6 to 8 months later and it will be old news by then. rogers has the worst selection of phones.

Canada always gets stuff months after America. Fact is, it would be nice if we could just buy it in US, bring it to Canada, and use it on a Canadian service. Not gonna fucking happen. So any iPhone wanters like me, hang in there and be patient, but don't expect anything.

Well it seems that there is still some debate about the Rogers release of the iphone. Working at Rogers, this is the deal. The iphone will be carried in Canada on the Rogers Network. One of the things not mentioned thus far is the pricing of our "data plans" in Canada. At 100 dollars for 100 Mgs...it is just too expensive to employ the full capability of the iphone at an affordable consumer price. The data set up is likely going to be revamped similiar to the one in the US.

get a us iphone and unlock it works great. No mms/ pic messages and no video record. Key pad needs a lot of getting use to. Prev poster is right data plans need to change. I'm on 10mb and that probably is used up justt watchingyoutube videos. Rogers needs an unlimited data plan in the us itslike $60 bucks

I'm using an iPhone on rogers right now. Its an unlocked us version. Why wait for rogers and debate u can get them now. As the prey person said the data needs to be changed 5- 10 mb won't cover youtube videos forget other data. Problems= no pic messages no video record and typing takes getting use to

forget the iPhone, just get the SE w960 when thats released in December, has the same specs as the iphone, cept a 3.2 mp camera and has a stylus or finger-touch screen, i prefer sony for sure over apple.

What do you people need with an iphone? All i know is that you will be more in debt than ever and you cant unlock an iphone and use it free with out any network catching you. You didnt think companies are that dumb, they profit you loose.

Hey guys, if you are Canadian and want an iPhone so badly then just buy one from the states and hack it to work with Rogers. Be prepared to pay Roger's outrageous data prices though amounting to $120 or more per month (and that's if you're lucky and know what plans to ask for). If you don't have any clue about the plans they can easily screw you over for about $160/month if you want the data plan to go with the phone. Even then, you'll have wonderful data limits of 10MB-1GB.

But the offical anoucment it that it is going to be comming out in canada by rogers wireless but they don't know when yet! But one things for sure it is going to be the best cellphone/i-pod/internet ever!!!!.......Hopefully

I am also tired of reading the 'fairy tale' release dates for the iPhone. I will buy an unlocked one and use it, but again that doesn't prevent us from getting reamed by Rogers with the data rate charges from hell.

I have heard that 4 or 5 U.S. wireless companies have been granted access into Canada, and I was advised to hold off until May 2008 as this is when they will be starting to set up. This may have something to do with the iPhone release. I am hoping that maybe AT&T will just set up shop in Canada and the rest of the Canadian wireless providers will have to suck it up and become more competitive.

C'mon people. It's not here yet! If you want it BUY AN UNLOCKED ONE and stop crying about the pricing of data or whether or not it will have full functionality. Normal, and I use this word precariously, people understand the details going into setting up FULL support in Canada and also the dithering and thumb smelling competitions that occur between companies(apple and Rogers) before agreeing all is well.
Seeing how we can't set up the Peoples Cell/GSM Network..shut-up about the monopoly and BUY ONE OR WAIT.

It is not up to Rogers when the iPhone is launched. Its in the hands of Apple, its when they are ready. Apple is focused on the Euro market at the moment.

I am an authorized dealer for Rogers. Rogers will have an iPhone data package.

Rogers is willing to have the phone unbranded as some of you may know Rogers brands all their phones with Rogers Music Store.. they will NOT do that with the iPhone.

Rogers will most likely not get the current iPhone just because Roger's is more focused on HSDPA and will prolly launch the Nokia N95 or N82.

Rogers looks to be waiting on the HSDPA iPhone 2 which is pending launch this year.

Again if and when the iPhone comes to Canada is not in the hands of Rogers but Apple themselves.. Rogers is willing to bend over backwards for this phone.

Think about it Apple will sell to a market that has 8 Million customers (Roger's) or 50+ Million (Europe), its a business move on Apple's behalf thats all.

I've had my iPhone in Canada for about 4 months now. Just go on Craigslist or whatever and find someone with it for sale.
Works perfectly, screw data plans, wifi is where it's at. Free and everywhere you want to be.
