Stones Throw To Re-Release J Dilla’s Rough Draft

Stones Throw has recently announced they are set to re-release J Dilla’s ‘Ruff Draft’. Previously only available as a rare vinyl release on J Dilla’s own Mummy Records, the new Stones Throw offering will be a double CD and LP release, which will include the original album on one disc, and unreleased instrumentals on another. Ruff Draft hits shelves March 6th, 2007.

While being heard by few, is being acclaimed as a turning point in J Dilla’s production career. Released roughly around the same time as his move to the west coast, the title “Ruff Draft’ refers to an intentional lo-fi audio style and features J Dilla’s more experimental musical leanings.
