Rage Against the Machine Team Up with Wu-Tang
Two huge reunions in one event.
Rage Against the Machine and Wu-Tang are coming together like Voltron to destroy any previous concept of what a killer lineup can be. Together they are scheduled to play three shows in three cities this summer as part of the Rock the Bells Festival. They are headlining the festival’s opening event on July 28th in New York. The other two shows are to be August 11th and 18th, in San Bernardino and San Francisco California. Like other Rock The Bells events, there is rampant speculation that these dates are a tester for a full on tour across North America. For now, fans should just keep their fingers crossed.
This pairing was first planned for a tour in 1997, but was dropped. Although the plan is a decade old, this is still some shocking news. Rage Against the Machine split in 2000 due to differences between front-man Zack de la Rocha and the band. This January they made a surprise announcement to reform for what was to be a one-off performance at the Coachella Festival. Wu-Tang had their own bout of time off; they last performed with late member Ol’ Dirty Bastard at the Rock the Bells in 2004.
